My last post was almost 9 years ago. The events that I told in that post happened 15 years ago. Wow.
I have always insisted that it is better to write looking backwards, after digesting what really happened. But that's too much. I will try to catch up with what happened since then.
And I will focus on the metal band's story.
Back to 2010 then:
The band was struggling with their new vocalist. The guy was an amazing singer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer, but he was terrible on stage. He looked like the neighborhood plumber, wore nonsignificant sweaters on stage, and he had stage freight. On top of that, the fans never stopped comparing him to the former vocalist who was like a saint to them, and that did not help his confidence.
He also lacked basic stage manners. he sang most of the set facing the drums, turning his ass to the audience, and he sometimes acted like a complete rookie, like asking for beer on stage over the mic.
All those would be OK, but then, the scandal erupted.
This new singer was one of those guys who refused to be a cog in the wheel, did not have a stable job, frequently ended up penniless and crashed on a friends' coaches. He was in such a period when he joined the band, and stayed with this best friend, who was there all through his life, who was also the guitarist of his first band I had told about. This guitarist even came to the stadium show to support his friend on his first day with the band. His gorgeous wife was also there.
A few weeks later, we found out that the guitarist kicked him out, and his wife, both of whom he had caught in the act!!!
Rumors spread rapidly, and of course, everyone was on the side of the guitarist. This became the favorite gossip topic of the industry for a while, and certain people turned their back to the vocalist, and hence, the band because of this.
The Vocalist and the ex-wife have been together for 16 years now. They are one of the happiest and most in-love couples that I have ever known.
